Bean/Lentil soup with ham – lovely fresh and crisp Italian bread accompanied this home made tasting soup

I ordered the Bruschetta which came as normal Bruschetta, after hunting for the funghi, I asked the waitress who was oops wrong one, new one came very quickly.

Was a bit dry, maybe some tomatoes on here too would make it a bit less dry.  However, nice selection of mushrooms on top.

Paying extra for the steak, I had high hopes, especially since I’d been told that the steak was amazing.  I wasn’t disappointed.  Could have been rare-er but still moist and tender.   The chips were crispy and fluffy inside.  Peppercorn sauce was full of peppery zing, nice bombs of pepper in each bite.  My only gripes were the pre-salting of the chips, especially in this health conscious day and the herb dressing, pretty but interfered with the peppercorn sauce taste.

Sea bream with italian herb sauce and basil and olive mash.  Half a sea bream really 😉 so more would have been nice.  The mash was creamy and smooth, not an overpowering basil taste.

Cheese board had plenty of crackers, sweet petit grapes, usual gripe of please tell people what the cheeses are.SONY DSC

Lemon Posset to end, clotted cream consistency, light lemon taste, would have liked it zingier, however good sized portion.

Quick, unobtrusive service.   Apology for the mix up at the beginning as well as a shot of limoncello, left feeling full and happy.

Toilet check – very clean with both gel and lotion.
