Restaurant Mark Greenaway to close

Restaurant Mark Greenaway, which recently celebrated its fifth birthday, is set to close this summer.  In a surprise piece of news owners, Mark Greenaway and Nicola Jack have announced that the restaurant will close at the end of September as they start work on a new project in Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh North Castle Street restaurant will close at the end of September, followed by the launch of a brand-new venue later this year, or early 2019.

Mark commented: “It’s time for a new challenge, and so we are in the process of developing a completely new concept. Though we will be using the same team and suppliers that have contributed so much to the success of Restaurant Mark Greenaway, the new venture will feel completely different. Our intention is to boldly challenge the concept of fine dining in the heart of Edinburgh.

“When we celebrated our fifth birthday this past January, it set us thinking about the future and what we really wanted to achieve. Winding up this chapter is our first step towards those ambitions. Naturally, we are sad to be closing the North Castle Street site, but at the same time Nicola, myself and the rest of the team are all very much looking forward to the future.”

During the restaurant’s final month Chef Greenaway and his team will be serving up some of the classic dishes that have become customers’ favourites over the last five years.

Best of luck to Mark and Nicola! 💋
