Snowflake’s new Snow Banana and Snow Peanut gelato treats
There’s something pleasingly daft about an ice cream shaped like a giant peanut.
Snowflake Gelato’s new flavours give you that option, along with a banana-shaped treat filled with banoffee gelato. A little more fun than the usual scoop in a cone.
Called Snow Peanut and Snow Banana, both come on sticks with a chocolate shell around the filling.
If you’ve spotted Snowflake’s shaped frozen desserts and wondered what’s inside these two, here’s the scoop.
Snow Banana: banoffee pie on a stick
The name gives you a clue, but there’s a bit more going on inside Snow Banana than you might expect. Under the banana-shaped white chocolate shell is banoffee pie gelato with caramel crumble.
Think of a slice of banoffee pie given a frozen makeover, with crumble mixed into the filling and white chocolate around the outside. We also got hints of foam Banana sweets, retro vibes
Snow Peanut: chocolate, caramel and plenty of peanut
Looking like an oversized peanut still in its shell, Snow Peanut has peanut gelato, crunchy peanut and caramel inside a chocolate coating.
Peanuts, chocolate and caramel are a familiar chocolate-bar combination.
The peanut pieces add crunch to the gelato filling, while the moulded shell makes the whole thing look rather silly.
The main difficulty is deciding which one to order. Banoffee pie lovers have an obvious starting point; anyone who heads straight for the peanut chocolates will probably be eyeing up the other.We thought these were great for an indulgent nibble and something tasty to take home for a weekend dessert treat.
