Oysters in a grand setting

With its rich decor, sultry music and glistening bar, The 158 Champagne and Oyster bar are certainly one of the places to be seen on a Friday.

The rich palette of colours evokes a bygone era.  Pick a seat, relax and settle down with some oysters, cocktails, and music.

The cocktail menu makes it a hard choice, however, my favourite is Hutchesons own Parma Violet with

Absolut Vodka, Liqueur de Violette, lemon juice, sugar syrup & egg white.  It’s worth a journey to The 158 just for that.  At £6.95 a glass, it’s well worth the trip for me!

Plump Cumbrae oysters served with lemon, tabasco, and an onion vinaigrette let us slip easily into Friday.  At £1 per oyster (served in three’s) this won’t break the bank. Click here for their drinks menu.

I loved the oysters and the cocktail, I think I’ll be back!
