Emma Five star luxury resort welcomes La Vista Restaurant opening
La Vista at Cameron House on Loch Lomond has opened bringing a blend of modern Italian all-day dining, deli and food shop to the five-star luxury resort.
Aptly named ‘the view’, the restaurant makes the most of the awe-inspiring scenery of the Loch, with plenty of natural light from giant windows. Every detail has been considered from the elegant aqua coloured booths in the restaurant through to the more informal deli’s comfy sofas and space for dining.
La Vista is open for breakfast through to aperitivo hour and dinner. The menu is filled with regional dishes, courtesy of Italian chef Pasquale Calvanese and Pizzaiolo Ivano Erme. From antipasto to aperitivo small plates, through to freshly made pasta, pizza and signature mains, enjoy dishes rooted in traditional recipes but executed with modern flair.
Plates include ‘Nduja Steamed Mussels in a Calabrian sauce with homemade Focaccia; Carpaccio of Beef with Mushrooms, Aged Parmesan and Crisp Shallots; and Burrata with Smoked Aubergine, Fried Olives and Manuka Honey. Mains are classic and crowd-pleasing with choices such as Swordfish with Artichoke Tapenade, Deep-Fried Anchovies and Caperberries and everyone’s favourite: Chicken Milanese with Spaghetti Napolitana.
Completing the menu is a selection of handmade pastas with the likes of Carbonara and Beef Cheek and Short Rib Barolo Ragu available alongside a special of the day. Authentic pizzas are cooked to order in a wood-fired Valoriani oven for a crisp yet fluffy base with toppings such as pancetta, porcini mushrooms, mozzarella, taleggio and Tuscan fennel sausage.
Cocktail connoisseurs can enjoy aperitivo hour with a dedicated negroni menu, offering eight variations of the classic red tipple, from the original to coffee, ginger and banana twists alongside Venetian style spritz and signature serves. The wine list features an Italian selection with gems from Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily available by the bottle and glass.
The Mercato is a food lover’s paradise, with a vast array of products and bespoke hampers impeccably sourced from Italian artisan suppliers. Store cupboard essentials are offered such as pesto, pasta, porcini and passata share shelf space with olive oils, balsamic vinegars, biscuits and chocolates. Fresh produce from the deli counter includes an array of Italian cheeses and cured meats plus there’s a great choice of Italian wines including those from family-run winery Tosti1820, who have been producing for over 200 years over eight generations.
