Travel: Tourist Signs in Japan

Morioka Regional Development Bureau in northern Japan have created signs to help visitors with local customs and food.

Its an initiative to help visitors who don’t speak Japanese or know about Japanese customs to feel more welcome.

There are a selection of images such as washing before going into hot tubs and a cheerful little pig inside a bowl to let diners know that the dish contains pork.
