Product review : Sipful cocktail in a can (4 flavours)

27/05/2020 by Emma Leave a Comment

Spiful - white wine and bubbles

Sipful Drinks is the baby of Darius and Emily, craft beer lovers who were looking for something different.  Darius is a brewer, but Emily was getting a bit fed up with the beer bloat from his craft brew picks so was looking for a lighter drink that didn't taste synthetic or too sweet but would make for an enjoyable summer drink.  Finding nothing readily available that they liked, they researched and developed their own drinks brand - Sipful which has now grown to four cocktails in a can.

These cocktails use organic Spanish wine and 100% real juice, with the exception of one they are 4.5% ABV each.
Here are the flavours and our thoughts.

Classic Mimosa - defo sunshine in a can.  Crisp bubbly white wine and orange juice.  It's a classic for a reason.  The Blood Orange Mimosa gave a sharper, shall we say slightly bitter 'Italian' taste to the classic and we love Italian aperitivo-style drinks, e.g. Aperol Spritz and Negronis so preferred this one over the regular variety.

We took the two other cans outside for a socially distanced break.  This time a Peach Bellini natural peach juice mixed with Spanish bubbles again rather than Prosecco but to be honest we prefer Cava to Prosecco so...shh don't tell the Italians!  Last, but not least Organic Bubbles.  The non-fruity and most alcoholic one (11% ABV) in the range, it's crisp, elegant and light-bodied.

We do not encourage drinking in the park. Images are for promotional, photogenic purposes as we do not have a garden!

Overall, this was a selection of very enjoyable lightly-alcoholic cocktails for drinking at home so perfect for the current amazing weather. Reasonably-priced too, for a pack of 12 they work out at under £3 per can and you can mix the selection too.

Disclaimer: we received a complimentary can of each flavour but although Fred is teetotal he can tell that these are fruity refreshing alcoholic drinks worth purchasing.
