Sunday Roast at The Hoxton Edinburgh: Board Sundays Guide
Looking for a Sunday roast in Edinburgh with a twist? The Hoxton Edinburgh has launched Board Sundays, a relaxed Sunday lunch experience that combines sharing roasts, cocktails, and classic board games in The Lobby.

Just a short walk from Haymarket Railway Station, The Hoxton Edinburgh offers a stylish alternative to the usual pub roast. Think cosy seating, friendly service, big sharing platters and enough board games to keep the table entertained all afternoon.

What is Board Sundays at The Hoxton Edinburgh?
Board Sundays is The Hoxton’s take on the traditional Sunday roast. Instead of a formal plated meal, roasts are served family-style, making it ideal for groups, friends, couples or a slow Sunday catch-up.
The experience runs every Sunday from 12pm to 6pm in The Lobby at The Hoxton Edinburgh.

The Sunday Roast Menu
The menu starts with some bar bites to wake up the taste buds, these include Crab crumpet, BBQ corn with aioli, Smoked trout rillettes and more. We chose to try the crab crumpet, as Emma loves crab and we both love crumpets. Luxuriously creamy crab mixture atop a toasted crumpet. We could have feasted on these all afternoon alongside our Scrabble game.

We didn’t want to impinge on our Sunday Roast experience so, only the one crab crumpet. Onto the roast itself, a choice of Beef rib, pork tomahawk, half roast chicken and miso cauliflower
Roasts are served with classic trimmings including Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and plenty of gravy.
Being a lover of cauliflower I was tempted with the miso cauliflower, however the brown butter cauliflower gratin side swayed me. So, we picked the beef rib and pork tomahawk as our meats.
Look at that!

Pork tomahawk and beef rib with yorkies (two each a proper serving) roasties, parsnips, carrots and broccoli and a flask full of gravy. We loved the flask idea, keeping the gravy piping hot.

Board Games and Cocktails
As the name suggests, Board Sundays is not just about the roast. Guests can settle in with classic board games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Connect Four and chess while enjoying cocktails and a leisurely Sunday lunch.
It is a fun idea for anyone looking for a different Sunday roast in Edinburgh, especially if you want somewhere more relaxed than a traditional restaurant setting.
The Atmosphere
The Lobby at The Hoxton Edinburgh feels more like a stylish townhouse living room than a hotel restaurant. Expect comfortable seating, warm lighting and a laid-back social feel.

It is the kind of place where you can easily lose a couple of hours over roast potatoes, cocktails and competitive board games.
