The Ivy Glasgow: First Look Inside Its New Home
First look inside The Ivy Glasgow and The Ivy Asia at St Vincent Place
We had a sneaky look inside The Ivy Glasgow’s new home yesterday, ahead of its opening on Tuesday 20th October, and there’s plenty to catch the eye. Think a grand glass dome, a tree rising above the central bar and, over at The Ivy Asia, a glowing jade-coloured floor.

The former Clydesdale Bank at 30–40 St Vincent Place is becoming home to two restaurants: The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie, relocating from Buchanan Street, and The Ivy Asia Glasgow, the brand’s first restaurant in Scotland.
Sharing an address but each with its own look, the two spaces bring a new use to one of Glasgow city centre’s striking historic buildings.
From banking hall to Glasgow dining destination
Dating back to the 1870s, the Category A-listed building was designed in a Venetian Renaissance style by architect John Burnet Senior, with sculptures by John and William Mossman and Charles Grassby.

The former banking hall provides quite the setting for a restaurant, with soaring ceilings, ornate details and that magnificent glass dome. These original features sit alongside colourful furnishings, bespoke artwork and the decorative touches familiar to anyone who has visited an Ivy restaurant.
Art consultant and interior collaborator Adam Ellis has helped shape the interiors, with bespoke wallpapers, intricate designs and artwork giving the brasserie and The Ivy Asia their individual identities.
Inside The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie
The glass dome is the centrepiece of The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie’s new dining room, bringing natural light into the grand space below.
Beneath it, a statement tree rises above the central bar, surrounded by architectural columns, richly upholstered seating and neatly dressed tables. There’s plenty to look at before you even open a menu.
The new brasserie will continue The Ivy’s all-day dining offering, serving breakfast and brunch through to lunch and dinner. Expect contemporary classics, seasonal specials and familiar Ivy favourites in rather different surroundings from its Buchanan Street home.

The Ivy Asia makes its Scottish debut
Alongside the brasserie, The Ivy Asia Glasgow brings the brand to Scotland for the first time.
Its illuminated jade-coloured agate flooring is one of the most distinctive features, with gilded ceilings, cherry blossom trees, decorative lanterns and bamboo-inspired details adding colour and texture throughout the room. Velvet furnishings complete a space that goes all in on theatrical interiors.
The menu will feature Asian-inspired dishes and handcrafted sushi. For now, this is a first look at the setting ahead of opening, with the food still to come.

When do The Ivy Glasgow and The Ivy Asia open?

Senior General Manager Olivia Wong described the move as an exciting new chapter for The Ivy Glasgow, with the original features of the building playing an important part in the design of both restaurants.
After yesterday’s sneaky look, we’re looking forward to seeing the former banking hall welcome diners. Between the glass dome, the colourful interiors and that restored clock, there’s plenty to take in alongside whatever lands on the table.
