Fingal Hotel launches Summer Afternoon Tea in Edinburgh
Luxury floating hotel Fingal has launched its new Summer Afternoon Tea, offering one of Edinburgh’s most stylish afternoon tea experiences for summer 2026.
Permanently berthed in the historic Port of Leith, Fingal brings together the glamour of a superyacht with the elegance of an old-world Art Deco ocean liner. It is a rather special setting for one of Britain’s most indulgent traditions.

Since reopening as a luxury hotel in 2019, the former Northern Lighthouse Board tender has become one of Edinburgh’s standout food and drink destinations. Fingal is owned and operated by the award-winning team behind The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is located just a short distance away, making both venues a tempting day out in Leith.

Created by Fingal’s Galley crew, the new Summer Afternoon Tea menu is served in The Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar, a two AA Rosette restaurant open to both hotel guests and non-residents.

The menu features a selection of seasonal savoury bites and sweet treats, served in one of Edinburgh’s most distinctive dining rooms.
Savoury highlights include:
- Crispy potato basket with John Ross hot-smoked salmon, spinach and hollandaise sauce
- Tapioca and Gruyère croquette with tomato chutney and bacon jam

Sweet treats include:
- Valrhona chocolate and raspberry gâteau
- Strawberry and white chocolate Chantilly shortbread
- Apricot frangipane tart with rosemary cream
Served with freshly brewed teas and elegant surroundings, this is an afternoon tea made for celebrations, catch-ups and leisurely afternoons by the water.
