Book now for Online Wine Tastings

Wine Events Scotland have three events that you can book and look forward to this summer.  We are loving the sound of them, especially the RIEDEL Champagne one. These events are all online, so you can join in wherever you are.

Lidl Summer Wine Tour

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Lidl Live Summer Wine Tour Reds
31st July 2021

This Lidl wine tour will be focussing on France. On this tasting, Wine Events Scotland have chosen a few times from the tour as well as favourites from Lidl’s Core Wine Range. The wines for tasting are as follows, but remember those in the French Wine Tour will not be in store until 22nd July.

Whites & Fizz
1. Crémant de Loire Brut
2. Champagne Bissinger Premium
3. Muscadet de Sevre et Maine
4. Picpoul de Pinet
5. Val de Salis Viognier reserve
6. Jurançon

Red & Rosé
1. Val de Salis Aurore Rosé
2. Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé
3. Comte Tolosan Malbec
4. Morgon Collin-Bourisset
5. Gigondas Puech Morny
6. Chateauneuf du Pape

Lidl’s “Lead Taster” Master of Wine Richard Bampfield will also be joining Wine Events Scotland and sharing his knowledge.  Each Lidl store receives an allocation of wine, so once they are gone they are gone, so get in quick.

During the tasting, you get a brief overview of where the wines come from and a bit about the style or grape variety.  The whites will be tasted on 24th July then the reds on 31st July.

A RIEDEL Champagne Experience & Tasting

16th September 2021
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Wine Events Scotland are partnering with RIEDEL for some Champagne and Sparkling Wine.  RIEDEL has 265 years of history-making glass and leads the way when it comes to creating the perfect glass for each style of wine whether it be red, white still or sparkling.

For this experience, everyone will receive a set of three different glasses suitable for sparkling wine
RIEDEL’s Martin Turner will be speaking about how and why the different shape of the glass makes a significant difference to the aroma and taste profile of a wine. When it comes to sparkling wines this of course is still the case.

We’ll discover not only the importance of the shape of your glass for Champagne or sparkling wine but also how different styles of Champagne and sparkling wine suit different styles of glasses.

Together with half bottles of Taittinger Brut NV and Taittinger Prestige Rosé we’ll be trying the different glasses and demonstrating what a difference they make.

Your set of glasses will consist of:

1 x Veritas Rosé Champagne / Pinot Noir Glass (normal cost per pair £55)
1 x Veritas Champagne Wine Glass (normal cost per pair £55)
1 x Vinum Champagne Glass (normal cost per pair £49)

Everyone attending will receive a half bottle of Champagne Taittinger Brut NV and a half bottle of Champagne Taittinger Prestige Rosé.

The Cost

These sets of 3 Champagne/ Sparkling Wine Glasses retail for £79.50 and the cost of the 2 half bottles (in a major retailer) is £46.50. The Early Bird ticket price for this sparkling experience is £75. This includes a set of 3 glasses and two half bottles of Taittinger.

You can also order an extra set (or more) of these glasses when you place your order for just £40 (Early Bird offer)
