The Palmerston announces Asian-inspired Sunday Series for Edinburgh festival season
The Palmerston is celebrating Edinburgh’s festival season with a trio of special Sunday dinner takeovers featuring acclaimed chefs from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Taking place on 16, 23 and 30 August 2026, The Palmerston Sunday Series will showcase menus inspired by the cuisines of India, Pakistan and Northern Thailand. Each event will combine bold Asian flavours with seasonal Scottish produce.
Guests can expect sharing menus, specially created cocktails and one-off wine lists selected from The Palmerston’s cellar.

Ghar brings Delhi flavours to Edinburgh
The Sunday Series begins on 16 August with Ghar, the progressive Indian dining project founded by Bombay-born Edinburgh chef Yash Rajpal.
Ghar will present its Chandni Chowk Club, a playful tribute to the colour, energy and food culture of Delhi’s historic old town.
The four-course sharing menu will be inspired by the street food and traditional dishes found around Chandni Chowk, one of Delhi’s oldest and busiest markets. Indian cooking techniques and flavours will be combined with seasonal ingredients sourced in Scotland.
Dishes will include:
* Citrus-cured fish with green chilli, coriander, lime, gooseberry and red onion
* Aloo tikki chaat with tangy chutneys and spiced yoghurt
* Delhi butter chicken served with freshly made breads
* Kesar mango kulfi with raspberry and pistachio
Parveen’s presents a Pakistani-inspired menu
On 23 August, sisters Fariya and Sahar Sharif, the duo behind Glasgow food business Parveen’s, will take over The Palmerston kitchen.
Their menu will draw on the sisters’ Pakistani heritage while incorporating seasonal Scottish ingredients.
The evening’s dishes will include:
* Charred corn and coconut sundal with papad
* Hispi cabbage thoran with cashew makhani and buckwheat crisp
* Mango salsa fried potatoes
* Saffron and fennel pilau rice
* Hunza apricot granita with pistachio crème
The event comes ahead of the opening of Parveen’s new neighbourhood restaurant in Glasgow’s Southside.
The restaurant will reflect both the Pakistani and Scottish identities of its founders, creating a welcoming space where different communities and cultures can come together through food.
Moo Noi serves a Northern Thai feast
The final Sunday Series dinner takes place on 30 August, when Tida Bradshaw of Moo Noi will serve a feast inspired by Northern Thailand.
Moo Noi is a pop-up dining concept combining Scottish produce with the powerful herbal, spicy and aromatic flavours of Thai cooking.
The name translates as “little pig” in Thai and comes from an affectionate nickname given to Tida by her mother. The project was created as a way for Tida to explore, understand and connect with her Thai heritage.
Her menu will celebrate the dishes and flavours remembered from her childhood, including:
* Sai ua, grilled Northern Thai sausage with herbs and cooling vegetables
* Som tam sa-got-laen, a salad made with Scottish kohlrabi, cucumber and shrimp
* Thai jelly and ice cream for dessert
Cocktails and special wines
The Palmerston will create a bespoke cocktail inspired by each visiting chef’s menu.
The cocktails will also be available from the restaurant’s drinks list throughout August, giving diners another opportunity to try them outside the Sunday events.
For each takeover, the restaurant team will search The Palmerston’s wine cellar to produce a one-off list of single bottles. These rare and unusual wines will be available at special prices during each dinner.
