Tickets on sale now for Spirit of Speyside Distilled Event
Following the most successful Spirit of Speyside Festival back in May, the 25th anniversary celebrations continue with the launch of tickets for Distilled, the two-day annual spirits event, sponsored by Howdens.
Held for the final time at Elgin Town Hall before it undergoes a major refurbishment next year, Distilled will take place on 6th and 7th September where it’s not all about whisky, giving attendees the opportunity to also enjoy a variety of rum, gin, vodka, cocktails and craft beers as well as food from Speyside’s larder.
With Speyside home to 51 distilleries, the Sampling Hall will play host to over 20 stands where visitors can enjoy a dram and speak to some of the biggest global players in the industry. Distilleries and blenders taking part include Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Balvenie, The GlenAllachie, Gordon & MacPhail, Cardhu, Strathisla, Murray McDavid and Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky. For those who love a gin, Caorrunn, Gordon Castle and Red Door gins will also be pouring samples.
The popular Tap Room will be running again by Against the Grain Beer Emporium offering a plethora of Speyside craft beers.
What’s on at Spirit of Speyside Distilled
Connoisseur Masterclasses are taking place for 45 minutes each on Friday night with Gordon & MacPhail and Speyburn.
Saturday afternoon is hosted by Chivas Brothers and Glenfiddich.
Saturday night, Cardhu, who celebrate their 200th anniversary this year, will finish the event off in style.
New for this year, a Connoisseur Pass will include an exclusive seat at two of the masterclasses for 30 guests only at a time.
The Johnstons of Elgin Lounge will be hosting special pour sessions and Premium Passes will give access to the Lounge and a voucher to use at the food vendors.
Chairman of Spirit of Speyside, George McNeil said: “Our 25th anniversary continues where we showcase the very best of the region’s food and drink scene in one venue. Following record ticket sales for the Festival in May, this is now a chance for us to profile some of the globally renowned distilleries alongside hand-crafted companies creating small-batch products where together, they show the diversity of Speyside produce.”
