Kirk O’ The Lochs Afternoon Tea – A Loch Lomond Treat
We recently visited Kirk O’ The Lochs to try their afternoon tea, and if you’re looking for a relaxed afternoon tea near Loch Lomond, this one should definitely be on your radar.
Situated just off the A82, close to Balloch and Loch Lomond, Kirk O’ The Lochs is perfectly placed for a scenic pit stop whether you’re exploring the national park or heading further north.
Housed in a converted former church, Kirk O’ The Lochs retains its original character while feeling warm and welcoming rather than formal.

It’s an ideal spot for a leisurely afternoon tea after a walk around Loch Lomond, and the calm atmosphere makes it just as suitable for catch-ups, small celebrations or a quiet treat.

What’s Included in the Afternoon Tea?
The Kirk O’ The Lochs afternoon tea focuses on classic flavours and homemade quality rather than unnecessary gimmicks – exactly our kind of afternoon tea.

You can expect:
Enjoy delicate brioche rolls, wraps, haggis bon bons, mini Cullen Skink, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and an assortment of Scottish desserts including cranachan, caramel shortcake, and macarons — all served with your choice of tea or freshly brewed filter coffee.

The portions are generous without being overwhelming, making this a satisfying but not overly heavy afternoon tea option.
Everything we tried tasted fresh and properly homemade. The sandwiches were well filled, the scones were soft and the cranachan was a pleasant surprise.
Service was friendly, relaxed and welcoming. Staff were happy to explain what was included and there was no sense of being rushed, which we always appreciate when settling in for afternoon tea.
Dietary requirements can often be catered for with advance notice, making it a good option for mixed groups.
