Blends and Bubbles at Kiltr
offKILTR – presents Blends and Bubbles in association with Johnnie Walker and Whisky Mavericks. An alternative whisky tasting event.
Blends and Bubbles – Event Ethos
Leave the stuffy whisky clichés at the door: BYOG (bring your own glass), no black tie dress code, we’d rather you arrived in your gutties, doesn’t matter if you don’t know the difference between an Islay single malt from your Speyside Scotch or a Highland dram, as eccentric whisky maverick Victor Brierley will break from the whisky norm as he presents to you ways to enjoy blended whisky rather than the usual malt variety, showing you blended whisky is as good as the rest.
Johnnie Walker is the whisky of choice for the night. ‘Big, bold flavour is at the heart of Johnnie Walker. The bold characters know how to make an entrance and live long in your memory afterwards. Trust your taste buds and listen to your instincts to discover your favourite blend.’ (http://www.johnniewalker.com)
Johhnie Walker Red Label is the dram the audience will enjoy: ‘Bold, fearless and fiery with a smoky finish. A versatile, vibrant whisky. It’s perfect for mixing – a quality not many other whiskies can boast without losing character.’
Eccentric Victor Brierley from Whisky Mavericks will host the tasting. The Whisky Mavericks are a team of whisky people and presenters who are not the usual. A ‘kilt free’ zone has been declared. They have drinks specialists, whisky ambassadors, cocktail experts and whisky entrepreneurs who look at whisky in a new light.
To be held on July 17th at KILTR HQ in the West End of Glasgow, 1 Bothwell Lane (behind Otago Street), 7pm-10pm. Free event.
