28/07/2017 by Emma 1 Comment

Cocktails at SWG3 Hypermarket

This weekend, Patron  Tequila will host the next stop on the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail tour at the SWG3 Hypermarket series in Glasgow – Scotland’s biggest design and street food market.

Throughout the summer, Patrón has been travelling the length and breadth of the UK, delivering Patrón summer cocktails. Crafted by the most celebrated local bartenders in town, these cocktails include a mix of refreshing summer favourites, twists on classics of locally-inspired serves.

The ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will be there from Saturday 29th July 11am - 10pm to Sunday 30th July 11am - 6pm.

The event will feature limited editions, prints, artist’s books and unique works by 70 plus contemporary artists including: Claire Barclay, Christine Borland, IIana Halperin, Jim Lambie and many more.

For visitors to SWG3, the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will serve three hero summer serves alongside a specially created serve for Glasgow, based on local trends and insight.

Mixologist, Ryan Mowat, Head Bartender at Kelvingrove Café will be serving up his own creation, ‘Gift from The Earth’, beautifully garnished with two edible flowers. This refreshing cocktail will be served alongside Tommy’s Patrón Margarita, a Patrón Jalisco Mule and the refreshingly fruity Patrón Paloma, made with grapefruit soda.

Each hero cocktail is made using Patrón Silver tequila, a 100% Weber Blue Agave tequila that mixes flawlessly into any cocktail, especially those that traditionally call for vodka, gin or white rum.

Talking of his creation, Ryan Mowat, Head Bartender at Kelvingrove Café, shared his inspiration for the cocktail; “This cocktail pays homage to one of Patrón’s core values surrounding social responsibility. For a long time I have been a keen advocate of these values in my bar, so I always make sure I utilise every element of the ingredients used. By being smart and innovative we can make some fantastic drinks, I want to be at the forefront of the sustainability scene in Glasgow and encourage other bars in the city to follow suit.”

The ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream will feature an interactive mural photo wall, take a picture on your phone and tag using the #PatronTheSummer hashtag and your picture will automatically be printed out on site.

If you miss Ryan at the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail airstream, his “Gift From The Earth” cocktail will be available as a special at Kelvingrove Café.
