Beer Review: Rheinbacher Premium Pilsner from Aldi

Budget summer pilsner

At 99p a bottle from Aldi I wasn’t expecting much from this beer. However, it was sunny and I quite fancied a light lager to accompany dinner later so in the basket it went.

Pour

Pouring out the beer it has a clear golden/straw colour with a fizzy white head.

Aroma

A light sweet pils aroma, muted compared to other pilsners I’ve had.

Taste

Again a lighter taste in comparison to other pils beer out there, so lacking the sweet cereal flavours of others.

Overall, a crisp and refreshing beer which is OK for the price. Not a stunner but does the job of quenching that need for a pils. Would be ideal for sitting in the garden after mowing the lawn.

TL:DR

+ Great price
+ Easy to guzzle

– Not strong on  flavour
