Produced by the Loch Lomond Group, both distilleries showcase the diversity of Scotch whisky production, from Highland elegance to Campbeltown maritime character.

Celebrate World Whisky Day with Loch Lomond Whiskies

Crafted just a few miles from the shores of Loch Lomond, Loch Lomond Whiskies is known for producing versatile single malts with notes of orchard fruit, honey and delicate smoke. The distillery’s combination of  swan-neck stills and straight-neck stills allows its whisky makers to create a wide variety of flavour profiles.

The Turn Cocktail Recipe

Inspired by the halfway point during a round of golf, The Turn celebrates the brand’s long-standing partnership with The Open.

The cocktail uses Loch Lomond 12 Year Old, a whisky filled with peach and pear notes balanced by vanilla sweetness and gentle smoke.

Ingredients

  • 35ml Loch Lomond 12 Year Old
  • Five mint leaves
  • Three lime wedges
  • Ginger ale or ginger beer

Method

Fill a tall glass with ice, add the whisky, mint leaves and lime wedges, then top with ginger ale or ginger beer. Stir gently and serve.

Tropical Whisky Cocktail from Glen Scotia

One of only three surviving distilleries in Campbeltown, Glen Scotia has been producing whisky since 1832. The distillery is celebrated for its distinctive maritime style and traditional production methods, with much of the original stillroom and dunnage warehouse still in use today.

Neptune’s Cargo Cocktail Recipe

Inspired by The Neptune, a rum ship seized near Sanda Island in 1769, Neptune’s Cargo combines tropical flavours with Campbeltown whisky character.

The cocktail features Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish, matured in American oak before a finish in Guyanese demerara rum casks. The resulting whisky delivers notes of molasses, caramelised sugar and tropical fruit.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish
  • 50ml fresh pineapple juice
  • 10ml fresh lime juice
  • 60–80ml soda water

Method

Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in the whisky, pineapple juice and lime juice, then top with soda water. Garnish with a pineapple leaf before serving.
