Brunch in Oswiecim
Travelling is a hungry business, so we needed to start our day of exploring Oswiecim with a decent breakfast. One place where to get brunch in Oswiecim and experience some of the town itself is to visit Kawka Coffee House.

Look at those cakes, it would have been rude not to order any…

What we ate and drank
A lavender lemonade for me, and a good strong coffee for Mark. Look at the colour of that.

Balkan style eggs – two poached eggs, ranch dresing, grilled halloumi, olive oil, and bread

Shakshuka – two eggs, sauce made of tomatoes, bell peppers and onions, blend of spices, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and bread

Both dishes arrived with perfectly cooked poached eggs served with fresh bread. Not belly stuffing filling, enough to feed and have some space for a treat – just right.
Miodownik, a honey cake which you will find in many Eastern European countries. This one had a fluffy sponge and lashings of creamy, almost custardy layers. As if it was designed for alongside a coffee.

I picked a Ptysie (pronounced “ptih-shyeh”) which isa traditional Polish pastries made from a steamed dough, similar to choux pastry. Light, fluffy and delicious. Far too easy to want to have another…couple!

Verdict
A wide range of dishes on offer makes this a spot which suits many tastes. Make sure you leave enough space for some dessert!
