Unveiling of new large-scale mural in Glasgow

Palestinian street artist Taqi Spateen to unveil new large-scale mural in Glasgow this Saturday

This Saturday 25th May, Palestinian artist and activist Taqi Spateen will unveil a new large-scale mural in Glasgow’s East End at Stevenson Street West, by Barrowlands Gate.

Collaborating with Ciaran Glöbe, one of the artists behind the recent fake Banksy in Glasgow, this is the second in a run of 5 murals across the UK working with local artists in each city.

Traveling from Palestine, Spateen liaised with the artists across the UK about the plans, both logistical and artistic, for the murals being created. Depending on light and weather, the artists plan to paint every day working towards a public unveiling on the final day in each location.

Next he heads to Bristol to work with a team of artists as part of Upfest, Europe’s largest street art and graffiti festival. On 1st June, he goes to Stroud to work with Stroud Valleys Artspace (SVA) and the Picturedrome Theatre, Gloucester. From 6th to 15th June, he will be teaming up with Jimmy C in London.
