Seek out the Shepherdess Walk Park Mosaics
Unveiled as part of the 2012 London Olympics, the Shepherdess Walk Park Mosaics in Hoxton are hidden away down an alleyway and therefore a space to seek out.
See if you can find the narrow passageway leading to the park. After traveling through the narrow passage, you will find several large murals by Tessa Hunkin, aided by over 150 local volunteers.
There are two wall panels depicting the four seasons which show people enjoying everyday activities in a style of ancient Roman mosaics.
A third panel shows the history of the area with several shepherdesses tending their herd.
Did you know that up until the 19th-century this area was used by livestock being transferred to the nearby Smithfield Meat Market.
