Recipe: Spiced Passion Fruit Margarita from Las Iguanas

31/10/2017 by Emma Leave a Comment

Celebrate Day of the Dead with Las Iguanas

Latin American restaurant Las Iguanas have created a special cocktail for this spooky time of year– an ode to Day of the Dead, a huge celebration in Latin America.

The Spiced Passion Fruit Margarita is a blend of traditional Mexican flavours, including Olmeca Blanco Tequila, lime, agave, passionfruit, falernum and aromatic bitters. The creepy cocktail is served in a Sugar Skull vessel with smoking cinnamon to finish.

Available at Las Iguanas sites across the UK until the end of November, it will be included in the Happy Hour, offering two for one cocktails all day (except in Scotland due to regulations)

35ml Olmeca Blanco Tequila
20ml Velvet falernum
25ml passion fruit puree
20ml lime juice
10ml of agave nectar

A dash of angostura bitters.
Shaken with ice and strained over crushed ice.
Garnished with fresh passion fruit and flamed cinnamon sticks.
