Product: The Wee Fudge Company

The wee fudge company Glasgow Joyce Brady

Joyce, or should we say “Fairy Fudge Mother”, started The Wee Fudge Company in 2011 and has built up her reputation quickly, with her fudge now selling in many delicatessens and artisan food & drink shops in the central belt. We are chuffed to have Joyce as one of our foodie pals, she has great humour, immense pride in Scotland and its food and of course makes fabulous fudge!

The range of fudge has grown from Madagascan Vanilla to a further 9 staples, including Mrs Foodie’s fave: Hebridean Sea Salt and Caramel.

So we were more than happy to try out her three new flavours – Clootie Dumpling, Marmalade and Creamed Coconut.

Clootie Dumpling Flavour – The Wee Fudge Company

That thick ginger, cinnamon and spiced taste of a clootie dumpling is here, very rich and sweet – could almost be tempted to dip some of these into custard.  Great for after dinner with a coffee.

Marmalade – The Wee Fudge Company

Zesty and tasting very much like the shred of marmalade – a perfect balance of sweet and bitter.

Creamed Coconut – The Wee Fudge Company

At first taste this wasn’t very coconutty, light tasting and almost vanilla tablet like – if you’re a tablet fan then this one is for you.

We couldn’t pick a favourite but it was between the Clootie Dumpling and Marmalade – so that’s some more flavours to pick up next time we’re in Wholefoods!
