HECK asked us to give their HECK 60/40 chicken, red pepper and feta burgers which is part of a range which is made up of 60% meat and 40% veggies. This range is made for those trying to increase their veggies or reduce their meat or a bit of both!
The HECK 60/40 burgers are available at selected Tesco stores.
As you can see, Frankie was interested in what we were trying out.
What is in the HECK 60/40 chicken, red pepper and feta burgers?
INGREDIENTS: British Chicken (60%), Red Pepper (10%), Oven Roasted Tomato, Pea Flour, Black Olives, Spinach, Seasoning (Spices, Salt, Sugar, Dried Leek, Preservative (Sodium SULPHITE), Stabilisers (Diphosphates), Dried Garlic, Yeast Extract (Sodium SULPHITE), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Colour (Paprika Extract), Natural Flavouring), Greek Feta Crumb (MILK) (Anticaking Agent (Potato Starch), Basil.
I cooked them partly in the air fryer and finished them off on the hob in a pan to get that crispy outside. Served on a metro roll with some garlic mayo and salad.
These burgers kept their shape and didn’t crumble or appear to lose any size whilst being cooked. The texture was firm and moist. The taste was more like chorizo, the feta and chicken flavour being overpowered by the red pepper. We enjoyed them, but they weren’t as chicken-tasting as expected. We could see these working well as a lighter lunch option, or quick midweek meal.
