WHERE TO GO FOR STEAK IN GLASGOW WITH CHATEAU THURSDAY AT ALSTON

This review was first posted on our sister site Glasgow Foodie.

Alston Bar and Beef, located underneath Glasgow Central Railway Station have recently started Chateau Thursday. Buy a Chateaubriand for two with two sides dishes, two sauces, and a bottle of Malbec for just £65. So if you are looking for a chateaubriand deal in Glasgow, this could be for you. Even better, this deal is available until 1st September.

WINE

Finca la Forencia Malbec – aromas of dark fruit with violet, pepper and cedar. Really smooth for a Malbec, with some dryness but not all that tannic.

CHATEAU THURSDAY DEAL

We ordered a medium-rare chateaubriand with sides of double-cooked truffle and parmesan chips and ox cheek mac & cheese. The sauces chosen were truffle bearnaise and massaman curry.

A quiet Mark is always a good sign, and he was very quiet. The chateaubriand was tender and mild, delicious. Ox cheek so tender that it melted into the mac and cheese (top marks for mac and cheese that pasta hasn’t turned to mush as well)

We are big fans of Alston Bar and Beef. The prices are spot on, handy city centre location and we like the mixture of customers, everyone from date nights to girls get-togethers.
