Ashes before midnight: a ghostly Smokehead pour for Halloween and Day of the Dead
There may be skulls but there’s no skullduggery. If you are marking Halloween or Day of the Dead , enjoy the heady, smoke-filled joy of Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. It’s the perfect choice for the festivities, not just because of the wickedly glorious bottle featuring a death-head but because behind the fun of the design is a seriously serious Islay whisky. If you like your whisky smoky, the Smokehead collection will haunt you.
Introducing the Back From The Ashes cocktail, a riff on a margarita, that traditional Día de los Muertos drink.

It’s created using Smokehead Tequila Terminado (43% ABV / RRP £69), an exceptional whisky which marries Smokehead Islay single malt Scotch Whisky with tequila as it’s matured in tequila casks. Here, two restless spirits meet: the fiery, smoky peat colluding with distinctive agave tequila notes to create something which wows your senses.

Tasting notes
Nose: Peaty smoke, vanilla and shortbread. Amonds and smoke mix with chewy meringue. Blood orange and burnt sugar, with a touch of barbecued pineapple.
Flavour: A riot of smoke and citrus. Peat and malt go toe-to-toe with toffee; whilst lime spins with peach. Citrus balanced with burnt corn-on-the-cob.
The Finish: Long and sweet with gentle heat; a dash of citrus cut with a sprinkle of pepper.
Relish this ghostly pour down to the last sip. Look out, too, for other Smokehead expressions because Smokehead Islay Whisky isn’t just for ghoulish celebrations.
