New Ardgowan Scotch blend

Clydebuilt Coppersmith is a new Scotch whisky from Ardgowan Distillery.  This is the first in a series of limited-edition blended whiskies inspired by the pride shown by generations of workers on the Clyde.

Clydebuilt Coppersmith is a blend of malts from Speyside and Highland distilleries and is matured in first fill Oloroso sherry casks.

After hearing from the Ardgowan master whisky blender Max McFarlane, we were treated to a dram of the new whisky.

It’s sweet, a bit like honey on top of cereal with a dash of sultana, and has a long lingering taste.  With a few drops of water, the Coppersmith opened up in flavour and drinkability for me.  This is a whisky to savour and relax with.

We also got to taste Coppersmith in a couple of cocktails including a high ball and an old fashioned. The high ball being a favourite of the night.
