First Single Malt from Jackton Distillery

The launch comes more than six years after the Kean family filled the first whisky casks at Jackton Distillery in February 2020.

The distillery is led by Managing Director Jaynie Kean, who at 28 is one of Scotland’s youngest female distillery founders and managing directors.

RAER Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been distilled, matured and bottled entirely at Jackton Distillery, making the inaugural bottling an important new chapter for the family business.

Jaynie Kean said:

“Our first Single Malt is a huge moment for us as a family, as a team and as a young distillery.

“We laid down our first casks in February 2020, and since then we’ve watched, waited, tasted, learned and kept moving towards the point where we could finally share a Single Malt with RAER’s name on the bottle.

“This release means so much because it carries the story of everyone who’s been part of Jackton so far. It’s our first chapter in Single Malt, and we wanted it to feel open, human and true to the way we do things here.”

What does RAER Single Malt taste like?

RAER The Inaugural Release has been drawn from a combination of Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Oloroso casks.

The resulting whisky has a rich and warming flavour profile.

On the nose, expect aromas of fruitcake, fig and sultana, followed by flavours of dark fruits, treacle and roasted nuts on the palate.

The finish is  long and mellow, with notes of toffee, sweet spice and soft oak.
