What happens at a sound bath and don’t worry, you won’t actually get wet!
Life is stressful and I’m always looking for a way to switch off. Some me time, which would de-stress me and calm the forever to-do list noise in my head
Scrolling online, I found a listing for Good Vibes Wellness Workshop and their sound bath. Curious, I booked a session – at £10 it was worth a chance, I’ve spent more on candles in IKEA!

What is a sound bath?
Too much noise around us can make us moody and grumpy, but think of sounds such as birdsong, waves on a beach or rain tapping against a window. These noises can boost our mood, and a happier mood means a happy body.
What happens during a sound bath?
I can only explain what happened at ghe Good Vibes Wellness Workshop, others may differ. After being welcomed with a cup of herbal tea, we relaxed onto the provided yoga mats to ease into the session.
Some gentle exercises to loosen up our body and then we laid down for some guided meditation. Feeling relaxed already it was soon time for the sound bath itself.
Lying on the yoga mat with our eyes closed Sarah used gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and crystal bowls, chimes and many other different musical instruments to create a variety of unique sounds.
The sound waves created during the sessions are supposed to rebalance the mind and help relax the body helping you into a deep meditative state.
At the end of the sound bath, we bring ourselves back to full awakening gently and some more tea!
What to wear to a sound bath
You’ll want to wear something loose and comfortable such as leggings and a sweatshirt.
What are the health benefits of a sound bath?
Sound baths are said to improve sleep quality by inducing a state of deep relaxation. I’ve certainly noticed a better nights sleep after attending.
