Eclectic, friendly pub with an excellent beer selection
One on the to-visit list for ages, the tourmalet in Edinburgh is stunning. Just off Leith Walk on Buchanan Street, it is what the term hidden gem was surely made for.

We assume, given the cycling paraphanelia around, that tourmalet is from col de tourmalet which is the highest road pass in the French Pyrannees and has been a stage in the tour de France since 1910.
It's a quirky being the tourmalet. French inspired but with an excellent array of German beers. It could do with a regular dusting, and maybe a swipe with a bleached cloth once in a while. However, that adds to its charm, in a way. We'll be back, cheers!
