Sunday Roast in St Andrews With a View
Located above the first tee of the Old Course, Clarets combines relaxed dining with one of the most recognisable views in Scottish golf. The restaurant has been designed with warm burgundy interiors, natural textures and a mix of lounge seating and dining tables to create a relaxing atmosphere.

For anyone looking for a St Andrews Sunday roast with a difference, Clarets has the added appeal of dining surrounded by golfing memorabilia and historic trophies while watching golfers tackle the Old Course.

Clarets is an all-day dining venue with breakfast, lunch and evening dining. Alongside the Sunday roast menu, diners can expect dishes such as:

The restaurant has been developed by The Rocca Group, the team behind well-known Scottish venues including The Seafood Ristorante in St Andrews and Café Calton in Edinburgh.

Golf, Roast Dinners and St Andrews Atmosphere
Clarets is aiming to attract both golfers finishing a round on the Old Course and visitors looking for a memorable Sunday lunch in St Andrews.
With uninterrupted views across the famous links, Clarets could quickly become one of the most sought-after spots for Sunday roast in Fife.
What we ate at Clarets

We relaxed into our afternoon with a couple of glasses of wine Routas Viognier and
Routas Syrah, both from Provence.

It wasn’t long before the roast came out.

Three healthy slices of tender beef, vegetables and a crisp yorkshire pudding. You can also order cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets as sides. We decided to keep some space for dessert.
Our only criticism of the roast is actually that there was too much beef! We would have preferred another potato, or two..are there ever too many roasties?
Actually another couple of minus points was the toilets are downstairs in the R&A shop and cocktail napkins on the tables instead of bringing proper sized napkins.
This was forgotten after the dessert.

He was so happy after dessert that he stole my spoon to make sure he had every single bit!
Foodie Explorers Thoughts
Happy bellies after the Sunday roast here. We loved the relaxed ambience and, of course, the view. The beef was tender, yorkshire pudding crisp and you need to keep space for their sticky toffee pudding
