Spring Up Arts and Well-Being festival at Biggar Corn Exchange
There’s an opportunity to enjoy some free cultural and wellbeing activities this weekend at the Spring Up Arts and Well-Being festival at Biggar Corn Exchange. There are a variety of events on the menu over the weekend, including free singing workshops with choirmaster-led sessions letting beginners experience the joy of music and song in fun and relaxed sessions, with no need to be able to read music.

Well-Being activities include an opportunity to experience high-energy Friday night Clubbercise on Friday, a dance class on Saturday and massage and Yoga on Sunday.
Saturday and Sunday evenings see the Corn Exchange host readings of new theatre pieces. On Saturday there’s Forging The Art Of Conversation by Alistair Maxwell and Mountain by Amy Conway, and on Sunday there are three pieces, A Rose and a Tooth by Hannah McGill, Rank Outsider by Jennifer Kennedy and The Berwick Tapestry by Janette Foggo. The works, all by Scottish writers, are being read by professional actors including Robin Laing (Band of Brothers, River City) and Giga Gray (Lost At Christmas), and the audience will get a chance to get involved in question and answer sessions with the writers and performers each evening. All the events take place at the Corn Exchange, High Street Biggar and are free.
