Check out these smashers.
Filament 38 Clerk St
Filament is industrial looking with a friendly twist. Local baked goods and great coffee. Beans change regularly. *cafe is called Filament bloomin map wouldn’t work!
Right in the middle of Edinburgh New Town in a cosy subterranean setting. Light bites and lunches served.
The pioneer of coffee shops that roast and now has a gaggle of shops in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Broughton Street premises has an extremely chilled vibe with the back room a place to hide for hours.
An oasis of good coffee in commercialville. Outside seating, soups and sandwiches.
A dinky entrance hides a spacious interior. Of course good coffee and Union of Genius soup!
Another subterranean coffee heaven. Be quick to nab a seat or a window bench here as its a popular spot.
I would add Fortitude on York Place and Lowdown on George St (another basement dweller) to the list! Great places that keep me going regularly. Castello is around the corner from my office, though, and the guys that work there are fantastic!
just been to Lowdown so it certainly will be on! Not been to Fortitude yet, on the list – thanks for this!
