Big Feed returns to Glasgow’s southside

Big Feed has become a popular name on Glasgow’s street-food scene, bringing together independent traders, drinks producers, musicians and market stalls.

For its latest event, the team is taking over the grounds of House for an Art Lover, the Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed venue inside Bellahouston Park.

The event promises a relaxed summer atmosphere with food, drinks, shopping and disco music throughout the day.

Award-winning Glasgow street food

Food will be served by a selection of popular street-food traders, including Scottish Street Food Award winners Smoked Tamago.

Firedog and Pretty Events are also expected to be part of the line-up, giving visitors a choice of dishes during both sessions.

A pop-up bar will be open throughout the event, while The Little Margarita Truck will serve frozen cocktails.

The £20 ticket includes admission, one food token and a cocktail or mocktail. Complimentary disco face painting is also included.

Entry-only tickets cost £10, allowing visitors to buy their own food and drinks once inside.

DJs and disco music

Music will be a major part of the event, with disco sets providing the soundtrack throughout the afternoon and evening.

Daniel Hive from Glasgow’s Berkeley Suite is among the DJs confirmed to perform.

The first session runs from noon until 4pm, while the second takes place from 4pm until 8pm.

Although the event is described as a Secret Disco, there is no need to worry about finding a hidden location. Everything takes place within the grounds of House for an Art Lover.

Vintage market and independent makers

Visitors will also be able to browse a market featuring vintage clothing, jewellery, gifts, cakes and handmade products.

Confirmed traders include GPS Vintage, 3D Stepper and jewellery maker Anne Lang.

Dead Pretty will be selling cakes and sweet treats, while other stalls will offer streetwear, accessories and independent crafts.

The market gives visitors something to explore between food, drinks and DJ sets.

Is the Big Feed Secret Disco family-friendly?

The Secret Disco has been designed as a family-friendly event, with children welcome during both sessions.

Disco face painting will be available, and children under five can attend free of charge.

Families should select the session that best suits their plans, as separate tickets are required for the noon–4pm and 4pm–8pm time slots.

Supporting Mermaids UK

Big Feed has confirmed that £5 from every entry ticket will be donated to charity partner Mermaids UK.

The organisation supports transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families.
