Edinburgh craft brewery, Vault City, has unveiled a special limited-edition beer designed to help Scotland fans power through the late-night World Cup fixtures this summer.
Vault City Brewing has launched Blue Brew: World Cup 2026 Edition, a playful sour beer inspired by Scotland’s iconic soft drink. Featuring notes of bubble gum alongside added caffeine, the release aims to keep supporters awake for Scotland’s long-awaited return to football’s biggest stage.

The 2026 tournament marks Scotland’s first World Cup appearance in almost 30 years, with matches taking place across North America. While the occasion is cause for celebration, the time difference means supporters back home face a series of overnight kick-offs, including Scotland’s opening fixture against Haiti at 2am on 14 June.
Created with those unsociable match times in mind, Blue Brew combines Vault City’s signature sour beer style with a caffeinated twist, offering fans an extra boost while they cheer on Steve Clarke’s side.
Packaged in a vibrant blue 440ml can, the beer comes in at 5.5% ABV and is suitable for vegans, although it contains gluten. The brewery describes it as both a tribute to Scotland’s favourite fizzy drink and a practical companion for late-night football viewing.
Steven Smith-Hay, co-founder of Vault City Brewing, said:
“We wanted to create something special for Scotland’s return to the World Cup – a beer that celebrates our culture while helping supporters make it through those late-night kick-offs.
“Blue Brew delivers the familiar flavour profile people know and love, with an added burst of energy to help fans enjoy every moment of the tournament.”
The World Cup Edition forms part of a limited re-release of Vault City’s popular Iron Brew-inspired range, complete with refreshed packaging created especially for the tournament.
For supporters looking to stock up, Vault City has also introduced a World Cup 2026 Bundle, which includes twelve cans of beer, a commemorative pint glass and a sticker sheet.
The launch comes just ahead of Scotland’s opening match and the national bank holiday on Monday 15 June, giving fans an extra day to recover after a night of football.
Blue Brew is available for a limited period, priced at £6.80 per can, offering a distinctly Scottish way to celebrate the nation’s return to the World Cup—whether watching from the pub, the sofa or in your pyjamas.
