The Palmerston and Pals
Each Sunday evening, The Palmerston will hand over the stoves to showcase some of the finest cooking in the central belt, with a series of four dinners from Murid Laly, Big Dip, Arete and Tumshie:
3rd August: Murid Laly’s Afghan feast (@muridlk) -Highlighting chef Murid’s roots in Afghanistan, the first takeover will bring Afghan classics into a Scottish context, resulting in rustic, seasonal cookery that will warm and comfort.
10th August: Big Dip’s Old School Trattoria – Following with an Italian-influenced feast, pop-up duo Big Dip will present their fresh takes on Milanese comfort classics, inspired by co-owner Chiara’s Italian heritage.

17th August: The Return of Arete – Returning to The Palmerston after a pop-up dinner earlier this year, Arete’s takeover will bring co-founders George Colebrook and Neil Paterson’s honest, common sense approach to cooking, focusing on classic techniques and the best seasonal produce.
24th August: Tumshie’s First Edinburgh Outing – Closing out the series will be Tumshie, a supper club concept by Marc Johnston and Jonathan Mackle who have between them 30 years of experience in some of Glasgow’s best restaurants – and will be cooking together in Edinburgh for the first time.
Each set menu will be £40 per person and the pop-ups will be available to book at hello@thepalmerstonedinburgh.co.uk.
