Ayrshire Cafe with homely food

Whilst in Fenwick for lunch at Kings Arms (click here to read more), we saved space for some dessert from The Fenwick Cafe. Located at the bottom of the village of Fenwick, the cafe is a leisurely walk from the Kings Arms, maybe enough to work off a chip or two!

We are big fans of the arts and crafts style of buildings, so it was another excuse to stop and take a photo. A cafe in one of these buildings would be heaven, or should I say a cat cafe in one of these buildings! Anyway, back to the cafe and it’s food.

Inside is super clean and tidy. It was a busy day with takeaway rolls as well as sit in guests.

The tables were tidied and cleaned quickly once visitors had left.

Menu

As we had just had lunch, we were looking just at the cakes. The savouries sounded, and looked good as well. A reason to return.

Look at these cakes, don’t they look delicious? Lots of old favourites there, school sponge, ice gingerbread and caramel cake.

We plumped for a tea, coffee, cherry muffin and a gypsy cream.

We were very impressed with the standard of cakes, proper old school portions and taste. Strong tea and a mellow coffee. Just what we needed. Next time, we’ll try and soup and the sausage rolls.
