Popular South Lanarkshire Sunday Roast Spot
New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year so on the menu at The Crown Inn was a carvery as well as the regular menu. It would have been rude not to, so some lamb and ham were ordered.

What we ate

There was a choice of beef, lamb, pork or ham, or indeed a slice of each. We stuck with one type of meat each going for the ham and lamb.

The meat, for both of us, was moist – no need for the usual ladles of gravy, just enough gravy was given—a good amount of meat for a carvery, with well-cooked vegetables and fluffy Yorkies. The only downside was the stuffing which was more sausage-like than stuffing.

Of course, Mark can’t see past a dessert menu! Toffee Apple and Biscoff Crumble served with custard. Lots of apple and crumble pieces and lashings of custard provided in a separate jug. I picked tablet ice cream and strawberry ice cream in a waffle basket from a local supplier (the strawberry ice cream was delicious)
