Make your own McDonalds Cheeseburger at home

When you have a need for a McDonalds Cheeseburger, then scratch that itch with this simple fakeaway. Use fresh minced onion for more of a zing.

Not the most appealing of photos for this dish without photoshopping and food-styling it within an inch of its life! However Fred approved of the burger taste, so that’s good enough for us!

McDonald’s copycat cheeseburger

Ingredients

500g beef mince
6 hamburger buns
1 ½ tablespoons dehydrated onions
dill pickle slices
Processed cheese slices
Salt
mustard
ketchup

Directions

Mix the dried onion with boiling water and let sit until re hydrated.
Roll ground beef into a ball and press flat on waxed paper until about ⅛ inch thick.
Brown faces of bun in a dry frying pan over medium heat.
Remove bun and cook burger in the same pan for 2 min per side, salting each side lightly during cooking.
On the top bun-half spread the ketchup, mustard and onion and top with the pickle slice.
Place the beef patty on the bottom bun.
Add a slice of cheese to the patty if make a cheeseburger
Quickly slap the top and bottom together. Microwave the burger on high for 10-15 seconds for that extra McDonalds sitting in the paper wrap vibe.
