Hotel Cabin Borgartún 32, Reykjavik, Iceland Review

06/04/2014 by Emma Leave a Comment

We booked this trip through Travelzoo and one of their standard basic hotels is the Hotel Cabin.

Hotel Cabin is located about 15-20 mins walk from downtown Reykjavik with bus stops outside as well as amenities such as bank machine, garage and a 2 min walk from the shore. The tour buses all pick up and drop off at the hotel (or downtown if you want).

The basic room is basic, but you are here to see Iceland!, no tea/coffee facilities but you can get drinks in the bar (or take your travel kettle as we did). Enough storage space for the weekend, more under bed too. Small shower room with soap. Twin beds, tv, desk and lots of heating! I ended up hardly using the duvet due to the heat - not something you would think of in Iceland!

Each night there is a buffet with a different soup and different hot meat and hot vegetable as well as salad bar.

This is roughly £9.

The breakfast buffet was good for the price too and available for around 3am so handy for early flights. Different types of breads, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, tea and coffee.

The staff are helpful and can book your restaurants etc.

It's a 2 star hotel, and for somewhere just to rest your head, it does the job.
