This weekend sees Best of the West Festival (Bowfest) 2018 a family friendly end of season showcase, taking place in the grounds of Inveraray Castle on September 7, 8 & 9, 2018.
The Festival Kitchen, this year sponsored by Loch Fyne Oysters, has proven so popular that capacity has been expanded for 2018. The Festival Kitchen kicks off on Saturday afternoon with Calum Hall, seafood lover and Head Chef of the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar followed by Gordon Wallace Head Chef of the soon to be opened Machrie Hotel & Golf Links on Islay and the talented Graeme Cheevers, who has just taken on a new role as Executive Chef of the stunning Isle of Eriska Hotel.
On Sunday food lovers will be entertained by local chef Andy MacLugash, owner of Inveraray’s Samphire Restaurant followed by Sujitra ‘Eddie’ Scott who brings her characteristic fusion of Scottish ingredients and Thai style to the event.
Proceedings conclude with Scotland’s National Chef and Masterchef: The Professionals 2016 winner Gary Maclean. A passionate advocate of fresh, affordable, locally-sourced produce Gary is a senior lecturer at the City of Glasgow College.
Next to the Festival Kitchen, the food marquee will include familiar “Food from Argyll” names along with invited friends.
