This weekend sees Best of the West Festival (Bowfest) 2018 a family friendly end of season showcase, taking place in the grounds of Inveraray Castle on September 7, 8 & 9, 2018.

The Festival Kitchen, this year sponsored by Loch Fyne Oysters, has proven so popular that capacity has been expanded for 2018. Coinciding with Scotland Food & Drink Fortnight, six top local chefs and Scotland’s first ever National Chef Gary MacLean will be showing off their skills with STV Nightshift and radio presenter Derek McIntyre as compere.

On Sunday food lovers will be entertained by local chef Andy MacLugash, owner of Inveraray’s Samphire Restaurant followed by Sujitra ‘Eddie’ Scott who brings her characteristic fusion of Scottish ingredients and Thai style to the event.

Proceedings conclude with Scotland’s National Chef and Masterchef: The Professionals 2016 winner Gary Maclean. A passionate advocate of fresh, affordable, locally-sourced produce Gary is a senior lecturer at the City of Glasgow College.
