Edinburgh Launches First-Ever Daiquiri Dash with Five Cocktail Bars Taking Part This July
Cocktail lovers in Edinburgh have a new challenge to raise a glass to this summer as the city prepares to host its first-ever Daiquiri Dash.
Running throughout July, the month-long celebration of one of the world’s most iconic rum cocktails will see five popular Edinburgh bars creating exclusive daiquiri-inspired drinks in partnership with Angostura Rum. The event culminates on National Daiquiri Day on 19 July, giving cocktail enthusiasts plenty of opportunities to sample creative takes on the classic Cuban favourite.

The Daiquiri Dash was created by East Lothian resident and cocktail enthusiast Emma Hazzard, who drew inspiration from the success of Edinburgh’s Margarita Mile, launched earlier this year by Signature Group.
Working alongside Signature Group, Emma selected five of her favourite Edinburgh venues to take part in the inaugural event. Throughout July, guests can visit Cold Town House in the Grassmarket, Copper Blossom on George Street, The Boozy Cow on Frederick Street, Element on Rose Street and The Basement on Broughton Street, each offering their own signature daiquiri creation.
Among the standout serves is the Peaches ‘n’ Cream Daiquiri at The Boozy Cow, featuring Angostura Rum, peach liqueur, cream soda, vanilla ice cream, acid solution and sugar syrup. Meanwhile, The Basement will be serving The Godfather Part II, a tropical blend of Angostura Rum, banana liqueur, banana purée, fresh lime juice and sugar syrup.

Participants can complete the Daiquiri Dash at their own pace, whether that’s visiting all five venues in a single day or spreading the experience across the four-week campaign.
Adding a unique twist, organisers have also introduced a Strava Challenge. Participants who map out a route around Edinburgh in the shape of a cocktail glass and share it on Strava using the hashtag #DaqDash will receive a complimentary Daiquiri voucher or non-alcoholic alternative to redeem during the event.
Speaking about the launch, Emma Hazzard said:
“I’m delighted to be working with Signature Group to bring Edinburgh’s first Daiquiri Dash to life. After enjoying the Margarita Mile earlier this year, I thought a summer celebration dedicated to daiquiris would be the perfect follow-up.
“As someone who loves both running and cocktails, adding a Strava Challenge felt like a fun way to combine two of my favourite things. It’s a great excuse to explore the city, discover fantastic bars and celebrate one of the world’s most popular cocktails.”
Emma also highlighted the venues involved, describing them as some of her favourite places to enjoy a drink in the capital.
Signature Group’s Drinks Development Manager, David Smillie, welcomed the launch:
“We’re excited to bring the Daiquiri Dash to Edinburgh this summer. The event gives people the chance to explore some of the city’s best cocktail bars while enjoying creative takes on a timeless classic. With National Daiquiri Day taking place during the campaign, it’s the perfect reason to get together with friends and enjoy Edinburgh’s vibrant cocktail scene.”
Hannah McConnachie, Head of Business Development at Signature Group, added:
“We loved hearing Emma’s idea and seeing how inspired she was by the Margarita Mile. Supporting customer-led ideas like this helps us create experiences that people genuinely want, and we’re thrilled to see the Daiquiri Dash become a reality across five of our Edinburgh venues.”
Alongside the cocktails, each venue will also be offering food pairings. Highlights include burrata salad at Cold Town House, short rib skewers at Copper Blossom, The Boozy Cow’s signature burger, chicken focaccia at Element and The Basement’s house taco board.
The Daiquiri Dash runs from 1 to 31 July 2026 across participating Signature Group venues in Edinburgh.
