Arbikie launches The Signature – its first Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery in Angus has released The Signature, its first-ever Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the opening release in the Scottish farm distillery’s new single malt programme. Launching on 7 September 2026, exactly ten years after Arbikie filled its first whisky cask, The Signature is a limited-edition 10-year-old Scotch whisky produced entirely on the family-owned Arbikie Estate in Angus. Only 1,000 bottles will be available worldwide, priced at £250 per bottle. Arbikie releases its first single malt Scotch whisky The launch is a major milestone for Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery, bringing together more than a decade of whisky production with around four centuries of farming by the Stirling family. Rather than sourcing ingredients from elsewhere, Arbikie's approach is centred around its field-to-bottle philosophy, with the barley grown, whisky distilled, matured and bottled on the same Angus estate. The Signature becomes the first expression in what will eventually become a wider Arbikie Single Estate Single Malt collection. A Scottish whisky grown, distilled and matured on one farm The Signature is produced using Odyssey barley grown on the Arbikie Estate, close to Scotland's east coast. Every stage in the production process has taken place on the farm, from growing the barley in the estate's coastal fields to distillation and maturation. The whisky spent ten years maturing in six bourbon casks, housed inside former dairy warehouses on the estate, before being bottled at 48% ABV. That makes The Signature a genuine expression of Arbikie's single-estate approach, with the climate, farmland, ingredients and production team all contributing to the finished whisky. What does Arbikie The Signature taste like? According to Arbikie, The Signature opens with aromas of: - ripe peach - banana bread - lemon sherbet On the palate, drinkers can expect flavours of brioche, apricot marmalade and citrus, followed by a finish featuring creamy vanilla, orange blossom and lingering spice. The bourbon cask maturation brings additional sweetness and vanilla character while allowing the barley and fruitier notes of the spirit to remain prominent. Ten years in the making The whisky has been a decade-long project for Arbikie's small distilling team. Iain Stirling, Co-Founder of Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery, said: «"The Signature represents everything our team has been working towards since we filled our first casks ten years ago.» «"It is our first Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky, but more importantly it demonstrates what can be achieved when every decision, from the barley we grow to the casks we fill, happens on the same estate."» The distillery deliberately avoided rushing its first single malt onto the market simply to meet demand. Stirling added that the team wanted the first whisky to represent Arbikie's farm, family and approach to whisky making, describing the release as the result of ten years of patience and work. Arbikie's field-to-bottle whisky approach Situated on the Angus coast, Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery has built its reputation around producing spirits using crops grown on its own farm. The independently owned Scottish distillery has increasingly focused on traceability, provenance and sustainable production, giving it a distinctive position among Scotland's growing generation of farm distilleries. Arbikie is also a certified B Corp and was named Sustainable Distillery of the Year at the Icons of Whisky 2026. The arrival of its first single malt represents another important stage in the development of the distillery. More Arbikie single malt whiskies are coming The Signature is not intended to be a one-off whisky. Instead, it marks the beginning of Arbikie's long-term Single Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky programme. Future limited releases are expected to examine how Arbikie whisky develops through different ages, cask types and maturation techniques while continuing to follow the distillery's field-to-bottle philosophy. Further details about upcoming Arbikie whisky releases will be announced in the future. How much is Arbikie The Signature? Arbikie The Signature costs £250 for a bottle. The limited-edition whisky has been bottled at 48% ABV, with just 1,000 bottles available worldwide.
