Chef Ron McKinlay Joins The Little Chartroom for a Special 8 Course Dinner in Edinburgh

Food lovers in Edinburgh are in for a treat on Wednesday 13th May, as The Little Chartroom welcomes guest chef Ron McKinlay for a very special 8 course dinner.

Originally from Vancouver, Ron McKinlay is a Canadian chef known for his disciplined, technique-led cooking style, built on strong classical foundations. Over the years, he has worked internationally in Michelin-level kitchens in the UK, including time in Edinburgh at The Kitchin. This is where Ron and Roberta first met while cooking together, making this kitchen reunion 19 years later even more special.

After returning to Canada in 2017, Ron became Executive Chef at Canoe in Toronto, helping to shape a modern Canadian cuisine rooted in classical French technique, regional identity and whole-animal butchery. He now focuses on consultancy, collaborations and private dining, with an emphasis on precision, proper cooking and respect for craft.

For this one-off Edinburgh dinner, Ron and Roberta have created a beautiful menu celebrating Scottish venison and shellfish, promising a memorable evening for anyone who appreciates refined cooking and seasonal produce.
