Burns at the Fringe
Tickets are now on sale for: An Ode to Rabbie Burns at the Edinburgh Fringe, which will take place at the Tolbooth Tavern on the Royal Mile in the city’s Old Town. This is a Fringe-exclusive celebration of poetry, piping, and authentic Scottish fayre, taking place on only five dates this August.
Whether you’re a lifelong Burns admirer or Fringe first-timer, this immersive evening promises timeless tradition, great Scottish food and drink, and the haunting charm of Edinburgh’s past.

Located in the historic Canongate Tolbooth, built in 1591, the Tolbooth Tavern is one of Edinburgh’s oldest pubs. Once a toll collection point and later a courthouse and jail, its storied past now complements a cosy and welcoming atmosphere filled with character, local whisky, and honest Scottish fayre – perfect for celebrating Scotland’s iconic poet.
Event Details
Each night begins at 9:00pm with two pipers welcoming attendees: Liam, a member of the 16-time World Champion Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band; and Chris, a decorated championship-winning piper and serving member of the Glasgow Police Pipe Band.
Following this, a bowl of Cullen Skink will be served as a starter and then the ceremonial address to a Haggis will take place, with each guest offered haggis, neeps (Swede) and tatties (potatoes) with a dram of Craigellachie whisky. To conclude the meal, homemade Cranachan (raspberry, honey and oats) will be offered for dessert.

The event will conclude by 11pm, and costs £43 per person.
