Spacious and well-equipped apartments in central Bristol
Serviced apartments are an alternative to hotels and bed & breakfasts when you are looking for something more like a home-from-home on holiday. We stayed at Cleyro Serviced Apartments in Bristol recently. They are only a 10-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station (the main station in the city), and this is also the best stop to arrive from, or leave for, Bristol Airport, as the A1 Airport flyer stops here.
They have everything you’d expect from serviced apartments, so if you are looking for accommodation with your own private space at the heart of Bristol, then Cleyro Serviced Apartments could be for you.
What to expect at Cleyro Serviced Apartments
After checking in through their on-site office, a member of staff gave us a guided tour of our home for the next few days, explaining all the basics. Through the secure entry, CCTV-covered lobby, there are lifts to each floor.
What do you get in your apartment?
We were booked into a two-bedroom deluxe apartment, which consisted of two large double bedrooms, a bathroom, a modern open-plan kitchen, a living room, and a dining area.

In each bedroom you will find a large double bed, bedside cabinets and lighting, wardrobe and chest of drawers, controllable heating, and a fan.

In the kitchen, there was everything we needed, fully equipped for every meal from toast to a full-blown roast. Dishwasher, fridge freezer, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, kettle and fire-fighting equipment was also included.

There was tea (Yorkshire tea, yay!), coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk in the fridge so you didn’t need to worry about any of that – and we always need a cuppa after travelling.
The living room in our apartment had a balcony, unfortunately, due to renovations, we couldn’t use it, but they do offer a discount at the moment due to the work taking place, so it wasn’t all bad!

The bathroom has a bath and a shower, sometimes you just need a good soak in a bath, especially after all that walking and exploring. Toiletries are provided as well.

If you don’t want to make your own dinner and looking for places to eat nearby, Bocabar, which specialises in pizza is a mere 2-minute walk away. There’s also Lamaya Lebanese restaurant, The Left Handed Giant brewpub, Le Vignoble wine bar, and Ruby Hue chocolate makers, all within the same complex.
Overall verdict
Cleyro Serviced Apartments were a great place to base ourselves for a few nights in Bristol. The beds were comfy, external noise was at a minimum, the area in and around was safe and secure, and the lifts were clean and quick. Amenities were plentiful, though we didn’t use the cooker as we preferred to eat out during our stay, and we did have an issue with one of the fans not working but we advised staff at the office who swapped it out straight away.
Cleyro is ideally placed for the main sites in the city, and for travelling from Temple Meads railway station, or the bus stop from Bristol airport.
Note that some times of year and certain apartments have a minimum stay period but we‘d recommend staying for at least 4 days anyway, and even more if you can to see the city properly as there’s lots to do including a Bristol Packet boat trip, a visit to Brunel‘s SS Great Britain, M Shed, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Cabot Tower, Banksy mural spotting, The Clifton Suspension Bridge and museum, Giant’s Cave and Clifton observatory, pub crawls, aviation museum, and possibly a day trip to Bath – although we’d recommend staying there as well so please read about our stay at the Griffin Inn.
