Lumo champions Glasgow for Scottish Tourism Month
Glasgow is calling and Lumo is answering. The rail operator has teamed up with Visit Glasgow to spotlight the city’s best eats, drinks, attractions, and stays during Scottish Tourism Month.
Broadcaster and social media star Emil Franchi, known for his BBC Radio 1 shows, has created a series of videos for Lumo and Visit Glasgow’s channels perfect for anyone looking for travel inspiration with a side of adventure.

Scottish Tourism Month celebrates Scotland’s thriving tourism scene, and Lumo makes exploring it easier than ever. With affordable, direct trains from London and the North East of England, you can reach Edinburgh, Falkirk, and Glasgow in style – all on 100% electric trains that are 25 times cleaner than flying.
Adventures in the Heart of Glasgow
In the latest video, Emil kicks off at Glasgow Queen Street Station, before heading to Pinkston Watersports, home to Scotland’s only artificial whitewater course. Whitewater tubing? Check. Adrenaline rush? Absolutely. This is a must-try for stag parties, hen dos, or anyone after a splash of adventure.
Next stop: The Last Bookstore, a where literature, cocktails, and foodie delights collide. From there, Emil explores Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, boasting 22 galleries filled with art, animals, Ancient Egypt, and more – a must-see for culture and history lovers alike.
Luxury lovers won’t be disappointed either. The video gives a sneak peek inside the Dakota Hotel on West Regent Street, where elegant rooms, fine dining, and top-notch service make for the perfect city stay.
Richard Salkeld, Director of Communications and Partnerships at Lumo, said:
“We added Glasgow to our East Coast route in December and the response has been incredible. Scottish Tourism Month is a great way to encourage more people to explore the city’s vibrant mix of food, drink, activities, and stays. We’re also celebrating the Glasgow International Comedy Festival this March.”
