X Muse Scottish Blended Barley Vodka

xmuse-vodka

X MUSE, pronounced ‘tenth muse’ (as in X being the Roman numeral for ten) is a blended barley vodka which draws on heritage barley and the water source at the Jupiter Artland Estate.

We’ve always been told that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but look at this cover in this case: a sleekly designed glass bottle grabs the eye.

X MUSE’s bottle was created by the award-winning design agency Stranger & Stranger and features the curving lines of Cells of Life, the monumental land art commission by architect and artist Charles Jencks that frames the aquifer from which the spring water for the vodka is drawn.

Behind the scenes, X Muse is driven by former Pernod Ricard Global Director of Creativity and Luxury Vadim Grigoryan and Robert Wilson, co-creator of Jupiter Artland and co-owner of Nelsons.

The two heritage varieties of barley used in the production of X Muse are Plumage Archer and Marris Otter. These varieties are grown in the UK and distilled separately to enable the blending of the flavours to create the X Muse taste. X Muse is perfect for sipping where you will get to appreciate the aroma and taste. We tried it on its own and on the rocks where the taste is smooth with some peppery hints.

But don’t be scared to use it in cocktails. If you are looking for cocktail suggestions, the X Muse website has some delicious looking recipes.

X MUSE (70 CL Bottle) is priced at £55 and is available to purchase on the X MUSE website, Amazon.co.uk and at Hedonism, Petersham Cellar, Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange.
