La Liste Reveals the World’s Best Pastry Chef and Patisserie for 2026

The global pastry spotlight has turned to Copenhagen and Paris as La Liste unveiled its prestigious Pastry Awards 2026, celebrating some of the most talented pastry chefs, bakers and patisseries from around the world.

Presented during La Liste’s annual awards ceremony in Paris, the guide recognised excellence across the pastry industry, highlighting the chefs and businesses pushing the boundaries of creativity, craftsmanship and flavour. The awards form part of La Liste’s internationally respected rankings, which draw on hundreds of expert guides, reviews and customer opinions from around the globe.

World’s Best Pastry Chef 2026

This year’s title of World’s Best Pastry Chef was awarded to Richard Hart, the British-born baker behind Copenhagen’s acclaimed bakery group Hart Bageri.

Hart has built an international reputation for combining traditional baking techniques with Scandinavian influences, creating breads and pastries that have attracted visitors from across the world. His work has helped place Copenhagen firmly on the global pastry map.

World’s Best Patisserie 2026

Taking the top spot in the patisserie category was Pierre Hermé Paris, the celebrated Parisian institution founded by master pastry chef Pierre Hermé.

Known for reinventing the macaron and creating innovative flavour combinations, Pierre Hermé’s boutiques continue to be regarded among the finest destinations for pastry lovers worldwide.

Celebrating Global Pastry Talent

The awards also recognised emerging pastry talent and innovation across the industry. La Liste’s annual pastry rankings now include artisan bakeries alongside traditional patisseries, reflecting the growing influence of bread-making and bakery culture within modern gastronomy.

With pastry continuing to evolve through new techniques, sustainability initiatives and creative flavour pairings, the 2026 awards highlight a sector that remains one of the most exciting areas of the culinary world.
