Stand by me in Berlin
Have you ever loved a song so much that you’d carve it into a tree? Well someone did within Berlin’s Tiergarten Park. Someone who really likes the Ben E. King song “Stand By Me”, to create the now known as Stand by me tree. Tiergarten Park is worth a visit. Not only is it a popular park, its 210 hectares (520 acres) size makes it the third largest city park in Germany.
If you are exploring around here, don’t miss the Soviet War Memorial and Berlin Gas Light Museum.
It has been neatly carved into the tree, so this certainly took some time. We have no idea why and when this was done. Just another quirky Berlin thing.
